A confusion often made by my customers, and therefore I prefer to explain it. Google Customer Reviews and Google Business Profile are two different tools offered by Google for businesses. Each is effective in its own way, but at different levels of the conversion tunnel or customer lifecycle…

Google Customer Reviews enables businesses to collect comments and ratings from their customers. Reviews are displayed on Google Shopping product pages and can be used to help customers make a confident purchasing decision. The benefits of this system include increased business visibility, improved customer confidence and reduced bounce rates on the company’s website.

Google Business Profile, meanwhile, is a business profile on Google that can include information such as location, opening hours, photos and customer reviews. The benefits of this profile include increased business visibility on search engines, the ability to receive customer reviews and ratings, and improved visibility on Google Maps.

However, Google Customer Reviews and Google Business Profile also have their drawbacks. For Google Customer Reviews, comments can be negative and negatively influence a company’s reputation, and the cost of collecting comments can be high. For Google Business Profile, setting up a profile can be complex for some companies, and managing feedback can be difficult for small businesses that don’t have the resources to monitor comments regularly.

Google Customer Reviews and Google Business Profile are both valuable tools for businesses, but it’s important to understand the pros and cons of each to determine which is best suited to your company’s needs.
